The crowned demon...
It was 2 am, the 5th day of night duty during the second wave of covid 19 in Chennai. I had penned a write up and I wished to send it to my buddy who reviews before posting on social platform. It was almost a lengthy write up, I don't know what went wrong there was a ghostly disappearance, there was no room for pain and dismay for the loss, every thing seems to be uncertain..
When your physical and mental state is completely worn out due to stress there is an route to escape to the land of no where through your creativity, covid second wave has created goliathic down heartedness.
It has created a havoc , every city in India is swept away in an infectious avalanche.
The pandemonium created by the ambulance flying at a rate of knots makes the heart to skip a beat. The atomosphere is filled with a sense of fear and depression.
Round the clock health proffesionals are on the toes, any given moment is challenging, every second is unprecedented. Every hospital is queued by ambulance like a snake moving at pace of a snail to be attended .
What went wrong? Where are we heading? What will be the state tommorow ? all these random answerless thoughts haunt me. Is the sky falling down or is it a viral apocalypse..
Every loud cry in the silence of the night is in memory of someone whose life was snatched by the micro monster. Inside every black body bag there lies a motionless person who lost his or her battle againt the crowned Satan. Every breath was stolen by a biological malware
Some blame it on gene splicing, some conspires biological warfare, some analyse it as international political arm wrestling, Some call it as pharma economy .. what ever it is there are zillion who have lost their life.
Nature has once again proved that the human knowledge is just a speck and lot more has not been figured out. We have technology to wipe out every life from the face of earth but we lack that knowledge to save the dying patients.
If one doesnot understand the intensity he or she should spend a night in a hospital , the rattling of dead body stretcher , the bovine cough, the cacophony of the suffering patients, the tears, the grieving cry, the bone chilling drama, every thing loads tons of weight on a depressing heart.
The hissing of a ventilator, the bubbling of oxygen over the simple humidifier, the sight of a patient strangled in-between the tubes and lines, the struggle to take a breath, the isolation from friend and relatives all these things pierces like multiple arrows, it is like magnificently mutilating someone.
Lack of sufficent medical oxygen, lack of sufficent hospital bed, lack of remedy... Everthing is lacking just because of lack in knowlege and self discipline in following direction given by health department , even an intellect becomes a literate nonsense when it comes to wearing mask and social distancing.
What ever it is everyone wants this nightmare to pass away soon.. we wait for that light at the end of a dark tunnel ....
